There’s nothing like the crisp fall air to pump up a great run, and that will definitely be a plus for today’s Run the Rocks 5K. The sixth annual autumn race — which follows the paved-road trails surrounding Colorado’s picturesque Red Rocks Amphitheatre — offers a chance for participants to take in the scenery while indulging in some cardio for a good cause.
“The course itself makes it a unique and beautiful race, especially with the leaves changing,” says Ashlie Reynoso, events coordinator for the American Lung Association’s Colorado branch. Runners of all levels are encouraged to hit this three-mile trek in support of the American Lung Association. Music from Major Johnson, Gray Noise, Brothers of the Sun and more will entertain runners at different points in the course before they hit the amphitheater’s famous stairs for a climb to the finish. There, runners will be greeted with vendors and prizes to close out the race.
