Making Spirits Bright

Best to check your religious beliefs (or lack thereof) before going to see BALLS! A Holiday Spectacular, which once again will offer wacky, non-denominational cheer to holiday crowds. From a comedy unicycle act to audience-wide sock-puppet sing-alongs, the variety show is a silly way to get into the holiday spirit.

“What we find is that people have a couple of drinks, they strap on a sock puppet, and they belt out at the top of their lungs and do these sing-alongs,” says co-founder Mare Trevathan. “It becomes this very-cheerful-without-being-saccharine way of celebrating the holidays.” Enjoy musical performances from John Common and Jessica DeNicola, juggling from Warren Hammond, and what Trevathan calls the “uber-inclusive church” atmosphere the event inspires. As part of giving back to the community, all proceeds raised go directly to Concert for Cash, a nonprofit founded to support children’s wellness causes.
