The original concept for Holiday ManCraft, as Stu Alden remembers it, was fairly simple: “There was one craft fair that my wife, Nicky, and I were hoping to get into, and we didn’t get into it, and I thought, we should just do our own.”

So they started listing people who might be interested in participating in a craft fair held at Ink Lounge, and some of those people were guys. “And I thought, what if we do one that’s just for guys?” says Alden. “Because otherwise, it would just be another craft fair. And some of these guys don’t participate in craft fairs at all.”
It worked, and this year, the show is moving from Alden’s studio space to the Rackhouse Pub, 208 South Kalamath Street, in the Stranahan’s building — because what goes better with manly craft than beer and whiskey? The list of participants includes Vital Indus-tries, Swear Jar, Rob Mack, Azure Furniture, A Monster to Love, R Design, Alex Watson Pottery and many more, all offering handmade goodies perfect for that tough-to-shop-for dude on your list.
Holiday ManCraft runs from 4 to 10 p.m. tonight at the pub, and there’s no fee to attend — plus, you can shop with a drink in your hand, which is pretty awesome. Visit inkloungecreative.com for details.
