Hotel Boulderado opened on New Year’s Day in 1909, and has thrown a blowout every year on its anniversary. This year's New Year’s Eve Great Gatsby Gala will be like stepping back a hundred years into New York City, with upgraded decor (you’ll see glimpses of Central Park here and there, plus vendors offering hot dogs out of carts and other little details) to go along with the famous annual balloon drop and other festivities.

“We’re a historic property, and there’s a lot of vintage inspiration, so the space lends itself to a vintage-inspired event,” notes hotel spokeswoman Lynn Brewer. “We decided we were just going to go for it.”

Dressed in Black will play on the historic mezzanine, while Cuban band Quemando takes over the events center; there will be reserved VIP seating on the mezzanine, and guests are encouraged to dress in their finest vintage garments from the era.
