"It's a little (like) Rocky Horror Picture Show, but that is more for the performers than the audience," says Henri Mazza, chief creative officer for Alamo Drafthouse, Sie FilmCenter's partner in the showing. Mazza says this show functions as just the opposite: it was meant for the crowd. From the phonetically-spelled subtitles to the encouragement of dancing in the isles, this movie theater production is a fully audience-interactive event. The R. Kelly classics "Bump N' Grind," "Step in the Name of Love" and "Ignition (Remix)" will act as three-song primer to get the party started.
The sing-along, which starts at 10 p.m., is part of the Watching Hour film series at the Sie FilmCenter, 2510 East Colfax Avenue. Tickets are $7 to $10 and can be purchased at the box office, online at www.denverfilm.org or by calling 303-595-3456.
