Hold on to your pasties: Nationally renowned burlesque emcee extraordinaire and badass of all things theatrical Miss Cora Vette (aka Reyna Von Vett), has had an epiphany. “I was sorting through the music from all these different shows I’ve done — Leadville or Bust, Reefer Mania, a jazz project I’ve been working on — and I realized that these aren’t all different projects; they’re part of a bigger project.”

That project is what you’ll see at tonight’s opening of Technicolor Tease, a brand-new weekly show launching at Bar Standard. Basically, Vette has taken the naughty vintage songs about sex and drugs that we all love so much and added more naked women, a cocktail hour and a live band to create a speakeasy-era extravaganza. “This will be bigger and more glamorous than anything I’ve done before,” she says. “I was assembling shows piecemeal, as I could, and this is the culmination of my life’s work. I want to redefine what I do and make it as artistic and classy and classic and bawdy as possible.”

Doors open at 8 p.m. for a cocktail hour with drink specials (and mingling with the lovely ladies of the stage), and the show starts at 8:45. Tickets are $15, or $30 for VIP seating. Bar Standard is at 1037 Broadway; visit www.coravette.com for details.
