You don’t need to find a Valentine for the Singles Day Soiree: This shindig is all about the single life. Taking over the main floor of the Jet Hotel, the party will offer plenty of activities that encourage singles to mingle, including free shots (from 9 to 11 p.m.), interactive games, spinning from DJs mLe, Lexi Fey and Mr. Willis, and nyotaimori (serving sushi rolls off of half-naked models).

Promoter Mike Knopping got the idea for the event by observing the way some of his dateless friends shared their woes of unattachment on social networks. “It baffled me that someone was single and felt bad about it,” says Knopping, whose Party Guru Productions also organizes pub crawls, scavenger hunts and massive camping outings throughout the year.
