We here at Westword really don’t mind telling you that Artopia is dazzling. There’s nothing else in town quite like the annual arts circus put on by ours truly at multiple Golden Triangle venues every February; the affair throws together the city’s best in random performers, live music and DJs, fine artists, poets, culinary artists and cocktail creatives for one wild, unforgettable night.

Artopia 2013 will kick off its eighteenth year of celebrating the arts at the hub club, Vinyl, at 1082 Broadway, and will move on as the evening proceeds to four more clubs, all within walking distance: City Hall, the Living Room, the Salty Dog and Bar Standard. The action is nonstop until 1 a.m. (City Hall keeps going until 2), and you can have it however you want it, from relatively quiet, so you can hear one another over your drinks, to loud and crazy, with floor after floor of kaleidoscopic sensory overload.
