The Dope on Drop City

In 1965, four art students and filmmakers from the University of Kansas and the University of Colorado bought seven acres of land just north of Trinidad and created a community. Drop City tells the story of that now-famous community from the mouths of the people who lived it — and who eventually watched it waste away. While they were there, Drop City’s residents brought their art to life, building colorful geodesic domes from junked cars and bottle caps on the land where the small group lived and worked for nearly half a decade.
