Erin Go Braless

There is only one true Irish step-dancing burlesque performer in Denver: GiGi DeLovely, a bona fide Irish lass who can take her clothes off while demonstrating moves from Riverdance. And if you want to see her do her thing tonight, there’s only one place to be: Cora Vette’s St. Pastie’s Day Burlesque Show, of course.

“She was our special guest two years ago — it was her first show she did with us,” says Cora Vette (aka Reyna Von Vett), the town’s reigning burlesque madame. DeLovely will be back for this year’s show, along with an almost entirely new cast of burlesque beauties shedding their clothes to Irish dancing tunes. “And there will probably be stripping leprechauns — because why not?” she adds.

You can also expect beer, leprechauns, even unicorns. “This year, it’s been suggested that I sing ‘The Unicorn Song,’” Vette explains, referring to the tune penned by Shel Silverstein and made popular by the Irish Rovers in the 1960s. “And because I take my craft so seriously, I just might do it.”
