The second part is improv, and it’s based on text-message topics that audience members sent to Gray during the first part of the show. "The second act is riveting, because you just don't know what's going to come out," he says. "We had one recently about hipster royalty. There was one about weaponizing penguins, and sometimes you get just a really basic topic. The first show, one of my topics was just Capitol Hill apartment shopping, so I talked about all my bad landlord experiences." Afterward, the comics reconvene on stage to quickly motor through all the unused topics from the night.
