An ’80s throwback dance party collides with fashion-forward style tonight at Paninaro Rewind, a couture showcase in an Italian-disco setting. Playing off Disko Paninaro, Tony P's weekly Saturday-night shindig, Fashion Denver will bring the work of a dozen local designers directly to the dance floor. It will be the culmination of a collaboration that Fashion Denver’s Brandi Shigley and Tony P's owner Tony Pasquini have contemplated for years.
"This isn't going to be a traditional 'walking down the runway, here are the clothes' fashion show; it's going to be more of a performance, where our models are really going to get into the whole ’80s vibe," says Shigley. And the party will continue tomorrow when one of Fashion Denver's signature pop-up marketplaces pops up at 10 a.m. at Tony P's, with such local designers as 50 Dresses, MUSAS, Barberry & Lace and more showing and selling pieces. There will be fashion shows at noon and 3 p.m., with food and drink sold throughout the day.
Paninaro Rewind kicks off tonight at 8 p.m. at Tony P's, 777 East 17th Avenue; the event is 21 and up. Tomorrow’s spring market starts at 10 a.m. and is open to all. Admission to both events is free; for more information, visit fashiondenver.com.
