Monster of an Auction

The makers of A Monster to Love’s stuffed creatures believe that every child should, in fact, have a monster to love. And because AMTL founder Ray Tollison’s twelve-year-old sons, Ben and Sam, are twins, every cute and squishable monster that the family venture makes also has a twin that they donate to kids in need through such nonprofit causes as Realities for Children and the Children’s Inn at National Institutes of Health, as well as Children’s Hospitals in Denver and Boston. “It’s a get-one, give-one idea,” Ray Tollison explains. “Many people enjoy knowing that every time they look at their Monster, there is another one like it out there in the world bringing joy to a child in need, be it emotionally or physically.”

The Art & Justice League of Denver, which provides services for children in developing countries, will be the lucky recipient of tonight’s Monster Makers Auction, featuring a delightful herd of cuddly monsters sewn up by the Tollisons and designed and decorated by more than twenty local artists. The event will also include more monsters and monster paraphernalia for sale, live guitar music by Joel Tromburg, and a monsteriffic kids’ book signing.
