The Chocolate Crisis Center transformed itself into the RiNo Epicurean Market for one of the neighborhood’s First Friday events last fall. “It was kind of a lark to put it together the first time,” says Lisa Heppner, CCC marketing director. “But both the attendees and the vendors said they’d do it again — they were all in.”
So the CCC has now turned the market into a twice-yearly event, and you’ll be able to experience the second installation tonight alongside the usual RiNo First Friday festivities. In addition to a free wine tasting, there will be samples of cheeses, meats, breads, oils, vinegars, organic spices, nut butters and sweets galore, including truffled chocolates and caramels from Belgium. Hacienda Maize, Gourmet Blends Denver, Kassia’s Pasta Farm, Pursuit of Spice, Styria Bakery, Weezr’s Organic Butters and other vendors will all feature their wares; Giuliana Imports, RiNo’s newest resident, will handle the wine.
Between sips and snacks, you can receive chocolate therapy from the CCC’s own Dr. Angst and even have your photo snapped with the good doctor. Doors open at 5 p.m. at 3370 Walnut Street, and admission is free; for more information, call 303-296-0628 or visit chocolatecrisiscenter.com.
