“It’s a multilevel project,” explains the MCA’s Luc Hughart. “For this first part, Eduardo will be talking about what is contemporary art in Mexico right now, his work and current influences in Mexico.” That will be followed by a lecture next week on “Magic and Reality,” which focuses on parallels between shamanism and marijuana legislation, and the series will finish up with “Tlaquepaque Style,” a dialogue with ceramics factory owner José Noe Suro, who will make tacos for the audience during his talk.
The lectures are at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday through May 30 at MCA Denver, 1485 Delgany Street. Tickets are $10 to $25; for more information or to purchase tickets, call 303-298-7554 or visit mcadenver.org. And even if you can’t make the talks, note that admission to the museum during May’s Revueltos Weekends is just $1.
Thursdays, 6:30 p.m. Starts: May 16. Continues through May 30, 2013
