“It’s not just a tournament,” explains Gregory Richardson, CEO of Colorado Cutthroat Connection, which hosts the event. “People can come in and play casually, or they can play competitively. We have LARPing [Live Action Role Play] going on. We have panels and workshops on art and game design. The event encompasses all the entertainment value that the gaming industry in Colorado has to offer.”
That includes more than half a dozen tournaments in everything from Call of Duty: Black Ops to Magic: The Gathering, as well as Rock Band and Dance Central setups for casual gamers, Frisbee golf, art, vendors and food.
The tour runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, 1600 Pierce Street in Lakewood. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the event, and free for current RMCAD students. For more info, visit coloradocutthroat.com.
