Flying Colors

In light of the recent passage of the civil-unions law in Colorado, this year’s two-day PrideFest 2013 will celebrate with “Focus on Our Families,” a weekend highlighting inclusion and equal rights.

“LGBT family rights have really come a long way now that we have relationship recognition,” says Dani Perea, marketing manager for the Center, the festival’s sponsor.

On Saturday, the fest will include an interactive area with special games and events for children, along with a parade created just for the kids. The theme continues on Sunday with celebrations for Father’s Day. As always, PrideFest will host an array of international artists — Martha Wash and Taylor Dayne are among the performers slated for the Center stage — along with dance parties, food vendors, interactive exhibits and more.
