“It’s a great place to learn from an expert directly,” says spokeswoman Yvonne Lynott. “You can talk one-on-one with these chefs and speakers about their thinking and how it can be a benefit to you and your family. That’s an opportunity that doesn’t exist anywhere else. Where else can you find all these people in one place where you have access to them?”
Those speakers include The Tipsy Vegan author John Schlimm, Erwin Vermuelen and Susan Hartland of the Sea Shepherd ship and Animal Planet’s Whale Wars, and many more; fans of the “Vegan Black Metal Chef” series on YouTube will be thrilled to know that Brian Manowitz is one of the featured chefs. The event runs today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Exhibit Hall at Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 West Sixth Avenue in Golden. Admission is a $5 donation for adults; kids (eighteen and under) get in free. Visit vegfestcolorado.org or call 303-719-8264.
