When your city is invaded by a host of demons, you’re going to need the skills of a top-notch exorcist to set things straight. Maybe even a couple. Lucky, then, that twin brothers Rin and Yukio of Blue Exorcist: The Movie are especially skilled exorcists, even if Rin is the literal spawn of Satan. Picking up where the popular anime series left off, and acting as a stand-alone episode and continuation of the story, the Denver premiere of Blue Exorcist: The Movie, at the Alamo Drafthouse, offers fans another chance to revel in the demon-slaying, world-saving exploits of the show while serving as an excellent entry point for the Blue Exorcist curious.
“I was able to jump in, realizing there’s a whole world I’m missing, and I certainly didn’t feel lost,” says Keith Garcia, creative director for the Alamo. “It made me want to go and seek out the whole series.”
