Fashion Feast

After viewing this year's punk-infused Met Gala celebration, makeup artist and fashion-show producer Katelyn Simkins found herself inspired. Fashion Feast is the result of the artist's creative insights: a night of runway walks, live performances and fundraising for Colorado's hungry.

Local clothing and accessories by Rachel Marie Hurst, 50 Dresses by Tess Vigil, Incroyables by Melissa May and more will grace the catwalk before New York City-based designer Geoffrey Mac unleashes his 2014 GMAC collection of street wear. "We wanted to bring some of these fantastic local designers to the forefront and really celebrate them," says Simkins of this first show, a collaborative effort with Mac that could become an annual event. Along with the couture showcase, there will be an exhibition of one-of-a-kind lingerie from Denver designer Danielle Sabey, modeled by an army of inked-up women. But the icing on this cake is an appearance by RuPaul's Drag Race winner Sharon Needles, who will be performing live between couture vignettes as Fashion Feast's guest of honor.

Tonight's Feast starts with cocktails at 8 p.m. and the show at 9 p.m. at EXDO Events Center, 1399 35th Street. Tickets are $10 to $30; a canned-goods donation gets you a discount, and a portion of the ticket sales will go to Feeding Colorado and Food Bank of the Rockies.
