Where can I find out which retail stores have opened?

For all the latest on recreational marijuana retail licenses, check the marijuana category on the latest word at westword.com. So far, 26 cities, municipalities and counties have approved the sale of recreational marijuana – and most of those stores will be in Denver. By Friday, December 27, only fourteen stores had been fully licensed in Denver – but more licenses are being issued daily.

…and what's the big deal with this "one-transaction-per-day" rule? I could see if it was a cumulative ounce (supposedly they're keeping personal information to make sure they don't come back--how hard would it to keep a running amount instead?) I see a common situation where someone buys a small amount and returns with more money to buy a larger amount (well under an ounce) because s/he liked it. That person will have to be turned away under such idiotic rules.

Let me see…an article on Westword.com telling readers to follow the important link http://www.westword.com to keep up on what dispensaries are open. I don't suppose it occurred to anyone there to provide a link to the actual PAGE, huh?

@Cognitive_Dissident .... you could buy an ounce at 10 different stores on the same day if they really aren't going to centrally track purchases.

And there is nothing stopping a Colorado resident from "assisting" a tourist with the purchase of a full ounce of pot.

@Cognitive_Dissident ... Billy's not even lucid enough to Category:Link his Ask a Stupid Stoner column to marijuana like the rest of the marijuana stories.

It's just the voluntary stupidity that kills me. They could do almost exactly what they're already doing, and it would make a lot more sense. The reason I though of it is because generally speaking, I'd only want to "sample" anyway, and buy some seed or clones if I'm really interested. It seems obvious that buying is a two-step process…try, then buy.

Frankly, I've deliberately decided to wait for all the hubbub to die down before going on a quest for a low-THC, high-CBD couch lock.  I'll probably call around in about a month, actually.

@Cognitive_Dissident

Ask one of the "red card" customers to "assist" you.

It is lawful for ANYONE over 21 to "assist" you in obtaining up to 1 ounce of pot/seeds, or 6 clones.

@DonkeyHotay @Cognitive_Dissident Yeah…called those people. They had this fetish about this "Red Card" thing.  Haven't checked to see whether they've "gone recreational" or not.
