Read Letter Day

Look closely and you’ll find things hidden within Denver's architecture. Local author Kitty Migaki’s Alphabet Denver reveals where kids can discover every letter from A to Z concealed in the city’s landmarks and buildings. Using poetry, photographs and the GPS on your phone (or the addresses in the back, if you prefer to do it the old-fashioned way), the book is a fun way for parents, grandparents and kids to explore the city together.

“The letters, most of them, are huge; they’re not hidden or tiny,” Migaki says. “It gets the kids to connect different concepts. They're things that were not intended to be letters, but now they’re presented with the photograph of something that looks like the S or W, and it makes them look for other letters themselves. It gets the imagination working.”
