“We’re constantly finding new things,” says Weitz. “Dava and I have continued to write back and forth over the course of rehearsal. She understands dramatic action clearly and writes incredibly good dialogue. We’ve been working on theatricality, asking questions like, ‘If we raise this dramatic question here, where do we answer it?’ And, ‘If we move this chunk later in the play, it has more payoff.’ There’s some dense dialogue about scientific concepts, but she makes them fluid and accessible without dumbing anything down.” The play explores a favorite theme, Sobel says in her blog — “the transformation of humankind’s worldview through science.”
