Alda will be in town today for a brunch, screening and discussion of the over-the-top flick, hosted by Denver Public Library’s Fresh City Life. “The thing that I find really intriguing when watching the film is trying to figure out whether the people who were making this film, did they know what they were doing?” wonders Fresh City Life’s Chris Loffelmacher. “Some cult films, like Rocky Horror Picture Show, seem to be done with a wink, but I’m not so sure with Mommie Dearest.”
Find out from one of the stars today at the Mommie Dearest Brunch at the Sie FilmCenter, 2510 East Colfax Avenue, which begins with food at noon, followed by the film at 1:15 p.m. and a post-screening conversation and signing with Alda and film critic Walter Chaw. For more information and tickets, $15 for non-members and $12 for Denver Film Society members and library-card holders, visit denverfilm.org.
