At tonight’s PechaKucha #23: Night in the Park, you can picnic to DJ spins and live music from Poet’s Row beginning at 6 p.m.; then the pace will quicken with five-minute presentations after the sun sets. Speakers sharing their rapid-fire entrepreneurial and artistic aims run the gamut, from MegaFauna’s John McCaskill to an RTD MallRide driver to a zombie expert from the folks who host the annual Zombie Crawl in October. And why not? Says Weidmann: “Denver is growing at a rapid pace. When growth happens, the city changes — so who are these people who are not as recognized or are under the radar and doing interesting things? The opportunity to be in Skyline Park with 300 young creatives doesn’t happen that often. This is something offbeat and unusual; it’s the only thing you’ll see like it here.”
Look for the inflatable screen set up near 16th and Arapahoe streets in downtown; admission is free, but seating is limited, and registration at eventbrite.com is recommended. Visit pechakucha.org/cities/denver for more information.
