Often viewed as a basic and mundane material, paper becomes a big presence here through singular, bold pieces. Artist Mia Pearlman uses paper to re-create forces of nature, cutting, folding and molding it to resemble clouds. Liz Miller’s site-specific installation takes forms from different movements in art history and transforms them into fantastic environments through paper. Each artist’s interpretation shows a completely different side of the simple medium.
Paper Work opens with a reception at 6 p.m. at the CVA, 965 Santa Fe Drive; the show runs through August 2. For more information on the exhibition and participating artists, visit msudenver.edu/cva.
