For anyone who goes to school, works at a school or has kids in school, this is the last to second-to-last weekend of the summer. So make it a good one by indulging in local wine, film and fashion. Battle of the DJs at Museo de las Americas (Friday, $5) Tonight, a couple of the best DJ's in Denver will battle it out, spinning and scratching records, while you dance the night away. The battle will compliment the current exhibition Outside in 303, which features iconic work of the city's streets.

Roll Denver: Animal House at EXDO (Friday, free-$5) It's that time of the month again to lace up your skates and get rowdy. This month's theme: Animal House! Get there before 10 p.m. to save $5 and celebrate the classic gags -- and don't forget to Shout.

Hailee Grace Boutique Night of Fashion at Infinite Monkey Theorem (Friday, free) Spend the evening in style while enjoying food trucks, plenty of wine and fashion shows. Colorado Independent Women of Film Festival at The Bug Theater (Friday-Saturday, $10) Celebrate local film this weekend from 23 women who have created everything from feature-length documentaries to music videos. Don't miss the opportunity to meet the filmmakers and experience the magic of film at a local level. Individual tickets only $10. Serevi RugbyTown Sevens at Infiniti Park (Friday-Sunday, $10) Football season is almost here, but check out this world-class smash-em-up sport this weekend. Seventeen teams from eight countries will be going balls-out for a cash prize and bragging rights. AIDS Walk Colorado at Cheesman Park (Saturday, free) Get together for a good cause today, and don't forget your high heels. The 5K run is a little more expensive, but the walking, after party and 5K Diva Dash Stiletto Fun Run are free, donations welcome.

Pet Expo at Denver Merchandise Mart (Saturday, free) Your dog probably enjoys going to all of your events, so this weekend try one of his. Animals (on a leash) are totally allowed to this free event with tons of swag, demos and entertainment. If you don't have a pet, come on down and find out how to get one.

Gilpin County Fair at Gilpin County Fairgrounds (Saturday-Sunday, free) Summer's not complete without a trip to the fair, and this one is a hidden gem. While slot machines are probably not under $10, the fair in the heart of Colorado's gambling district is. 16th Street Fair at 16th Street Mall (Saturday-Sunday, free) Here's a good one to stroll through. Check out both local and national artisans who will display their goods -- and, of course, take advantage of plenty of food and live music.

Boulder Market at Boulder Central Park (Sunday, free) After brunch on Sunday, head up to the market in the park in Boulder. Live music will tickle your ears as you saunter through an abundance of local goods.
