Throw the roof rack back on your car and dig out your winter gear, because storms this week deposited deep powder on both Loveland and Arapahoe Basin, the last two ski areas standing in Colorado. Loveland got 31 inches from the storm, A-Basin got 17, and OpenSnow.com forecaster Joel Gratz says to expect "significant snow Saturday night through Sunday evening," just in time for closing day at Loveland.
May the 4th be with you! In fact, the party's just getting started: The Shakin' at the Basin May concert series kicks off on Saturday with Fort Collins-based Eufórquestra playing from 1 to 4 p.m. The ninth annual Red Ball Beach Bash fundraiser for the Keystone Science School Campership Fund comes to A-Basin on Sunday ($5 for a chance to win the lottery-style game, with free music by Oakhurst starting at noon), and other upcoming events on the calendar include free concerts by The Congress (May 10), Funky Johnson (May 17), High Five (May 24), and The Champions (May 31), as well as the thirteenth annual Festival of the Brewpubs
