The old adage is, "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb," but there's nothing docile or doe-eyed about Copper Sunsation, Copper Mountain's three-weekend-long end-of-season bash.
And how does one say farewell, Copper style? With Colorado's Largest Easter Egg Hunt, the Peanut Butter & Rail Jam, Helly Hanson's Battle of Battles (where ski and snowboard teams compete in a Viking-inspired, on-hill match) and bands. Lots of bands.
"My favorite part is the live music," says public-relations manager Lauren Pelletreau. "The stage is situated so it faces the south. We get sun till the very last moment of the day." The Turntable Enabler will lead off the live-music lineup at noon, followed by the John Popper Project at 2 p.m. and De La Soul at 4.
