Erik Vienneau of Yoga Rocks the Park! describes the weekly gathering in City Park as the antithesis of studio yoga. All of the studios have their own vibe. Every studio has its independent kind of crowd. And this is the one event that happens every week where everyone comes together, he says.
Different yoga instructors from some of Denvers top studios take over instruction for the week and put together a yoga program lasting anywhere from an hour to ninety minutes and incorporating ashtanga, vinyasa, hatha, acroyoga and more. Theres a kids program, too, where parents can drop off the little ones to engage in arts and crafts, as well as live music. People are always saying how fun it is to get out of the studio and do yoga with their feet in the grass, under the trees, with the sun shining on you, Vienneau says.
