When fashion designer Stephanie Ohnmacht visited the Clyfford Still Museum, she immediately began envisioning ways to incorporate the artist’s work into her own. What emerged is Stephanie O. Designs’ Spring 2014 collection, which features a series of clothing items — from dresses to a sheer Georgette chiffon blouse — that use a Still-inspired digitally designed fabric print. Ohnmacht will debut the collection tonight during Still in Fashion, a runway show taking place at the museum.

“I love the textures, the layers of paint, the negative space that he left; I really like the abstract aspect of his artwork as well as the simple colorations,” says Ohnmacht of what attracted her to Still. “I wanted to pull art into your everyday wardrobe and focus on the everyday woman so that she can wear art-inspired pieces to the office.”

Still in Fashion runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Clyfford Still Museum, 1250 Bannock Street, where attendees can also browse the galleries. Tickets, $25 for 1944 Society Members, $30 for museum members and $35 general admission, include three drink tickets, a guaranteed seat and light appetizers; get yours at clyffordstillmuseum.org.
