Get a head start on First Friday tonight at CVA and the Museo de las Americas

At least two Santa Fe Drive venues are beating First Friday to the punch by opening shows tonight. At Metropolitan State College of Denver's Center for Visual Art, the high-profile group show Out Figured offers a contemporary and anything-but-cliched look at figurative art. The reception is from 7 to 9 p.m.
By Daniel Luna, at Museo de las Americas.
And at the nearby Museo de las Americas, Why Not, an exhibition of paintings by Colorado artist and "regional mythologist" Daniel Luna, debuts at the same time, during a reception held aloft not only by Luna's colorful magic realism but also by Opera Colorado's performance of an aria from the opera Florencia en el Amazonas, which opens at the Ellie in March.
So much to take in in only one evening!
