For the uninitiated, the Alamo Drafthouse's sing-alongs are a chance for fans to have a party right in the theater, with glow-in-the-dark-props and plenty of room to dance and sing along to their favorite videos with friends and strangers. In addition to the Alamo's usual full-service menu of drinks and food, there will be a Ye-inspired beverage on special that comes in a commemorative light-up cup.
Previous sing-alongs have brought out fans of Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Queen; the Alamo has also hosted '80s and '90s themed gatherings with videos from an array of artists. Saturday night's celebration of Kanye will also feature plenty of his famous friends on the tracks -- from Kanye and Jay-Z's "Otis" to the Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo laced "Knock You Down," plus songs with Drake, Rihanna, DJ Khaled and more.
"Kanye has been an artist whose music continues to grow and cause a commotion, and his music video style is constantly raising the bar," says Keith Garcia, creative manager for the Alamo Drafthouse Littleton. The two-plus hours of Kanye and friends will also feature some in-theater surprises to keep the party vibe going, and participants are encouraged to dress up in their glowing finery.
The Kanye West Glow in the Dark Sing-Along Party goes down at 9:30 p.m. this Saturday, May 17 at the Alamo Drafthouse Littleton. Tickets are $12.50; advance purchase is recommended, as seats are assigned. Price includes glow-in-the-dark props; food and beverages are additional.
