Denver is like a big sister to Fort Collins: When Fort Collins is having bicycle problems, Denver gives her a ride to the mall; and when Fort Collins no longer has venues big enough for shows put on by its own art collectives, Denver steps in and gladly opens her big-city doors.

So reap the benefits, Denverites, and welcome tonight's Femme Fatale 2 show — a celebration of women in art, music and fashion — to the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue. Organized and curated by the Femme Fatale Art and Solid Art collectives, the show features three lady DJs; four burlesque shows by Vivienne VaVoom and Fannie Spankings of Burlesque As It Was; two separate collaborative fashion shows by the Fabric Lab, Buffalo Exchange, Mademoiselle Modiste and more; and two different art exhibits spotlighting over thirty female artists.

"It's not like this whole goddess thing — like hippies and being naked over a fire," promises executive director dRE Williams. "But we figured, we're women organizers, so why not make it an all-female event? It seemed like a pretty good niche to work with and market with. We eventually want to take over a bigger-sized theater like the Fillmore and even move it around the country."

Some women are never satisfied.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets are $10. Get more information at www.theorientaltheater.com or 303-455-2124.
Fri., April 13, 7 p.m.
