So reap the benefits, Denverites, and welcome tonight's Femme Fatale 2 show a celebration of women in art, music and fashion to the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue. Organized and curated by the Femme Fatale Art and Solid Art collectives, the show features three lady DJs; four burlesque shows by Vivienne VaVoom and Fannie Spankings of Burlesque As It Was; two separate collaborative fashion shows by the Fabric Lab, Buffalo Exchange, Mademoiselle Modiste and more; and two different art exhibits spotlighting over thirty female artists.
"It's not like this whole goddess thing like hippies and being naked over a fire," promises executive director dRE Williams. "But we figured, we're women organizers, so why not make it an all-female event? It seemed like a pretty good niche to work with and market with. We eventually want to take over a bigger-sized theater like the Fillmore and even move it around the country."
Some women are never satisfied.
Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets are $10. Get more information at www.theorientaltheater.com or 303-455-2124.
