There's a first time for every drag queen -- and king. The inaugural edition of I'll Be Ho Ho Ho...Mo For the Holidays: A Drag Football Story rolls out its sequined carpet tonight at X Bar for a whole new kind of drag show. Men and women from the Denver Gay and Lesbian Flag Football League will be performing -- some for the first time -- in full gender-bending makeup and costume as part of a fundraiser for the 2012 Gay Bowl, which is set to hit town on September 20.
"We'll have some of our more masculine and athletic players stepping out of their comfort zone for the show," notes social coordinator James Warner. Hosted by the glitter-mustached Nuclia Waste, these brand-new kings and queens will strut their stuff to raise money for the national gay flag football tournament while also raising awareness in the GLBT athletic community in Denver and beyond.
