For tonight’s 99 Pieces of Art on the Wall, VSA’s annual fundraiser, executive director Damon McCleese invited 99 of his friends to contribute original works, using a ten-inch-by-ten-inch piece of particle board as a canvas. Josh Blue, Tony Ortega and Pedro Salagardia are among the painters, photographers, mixed-media artists -- and comics! -- who answered the call. Proceeds from sales of the artwork go to support VSA’s programs for youth and adults.
“As a nonprofit that focuses on access, this is a perfect event for us, because the artwork is affordable for everyone,” says McCleese. “People can get work from some of Denver’s most notable artists, and some, like D.C.’s Matt Sesow, who are collected internationally.”
Come snag one of the 99 Pieces at 909 Santa Fe Drive when the fundraiser begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $9.99. Visit www.accessgallery.org for a complete list of artists, or call 303-777-0797.
