Now that she has a devoted following, Ashley would like to pay it forward. To that end, she’s doing a benefit book talk and signing for the DPL tonight, during which she’ll discuss her novels and the specific Denver locations that inspired them.
“Kristen Ashley spent a lot of time writing her first books in branches of the Denver Public Library, specifically the Broadway branch,” says Chris Loffelmacher, events coordinator for the library’s Fresh City Life series. “The big thrill for us is that we have authors contact us all the time to do events, but not for this particular reason, not because they want to give back, which is really nice.”
An Evening With Kristen Ashley begins at 7 p.m. in the Level B2 Conference Center at the Central Library, 10 West 14th Avenue Parkway. Tickets, $25, include a signed copy of Ashley’s newest book, Mystery Man, and proceeds will benefit the Denver Public Library’s Fresh City Life cultural programming. For tickets and information, call 720-865-1205 or visit denverlibrary.org/fresh.
