"I write short stories and poetry when I feel like I have to; I'm not going to force it," he says. This Beatles shirt features Japanese text and a single for the song "Twist and Shout." This shirt is one of Reynolds's thrift-store finds.

These Osaka Tiger sneakers are Reynolds's favorite color. "Shoes are a necessity, not an accessory," he says. Reynolds goes by several names at 7-Eleven; he wears name tags that say "Andrew" and "Abeeba" just for fun.

Because Reynolds wasn't carrying a bag, he offered to reveal the contents of his pockets. The items he was carrying: his wallet, flip phone, 36 cents and keys with a Coors Brewery tour keychain he got in Golden, when he was wearing the same purple hoodie. "I like to wear this purple hoodie or my pink one. I also am reading Tropic of Cancer, but did not have that with me today," says Reynolds.

Style analysis: Reynolds's casual look shows his thrifty yet chic sense of style. The purple and pink hoodies defy gender roles in menswear in a more subtle manner than rocking a skirt, which men like Marc Jacobs and Kanye West have been doing recently to show their avant-garde style. His vintage Beatles T-shirt and aviators are pieces that complement the look, as are the Osaka Tiger tennis shoes. Reynolds keeps his casual style clean and simple as he commutes with the bare minimum.

When in doubt, Denver, keep it simple and subtle.
