I wrote an erotic poem once. It went like so: Your breasts are like two fawns /That browse among the lilies /Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb /Milk and honey are under your tongue /You are a garden locked up /You are a spring enclosed /Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates /I have come into my garden /I have eaten honeycomb and my honey /I have drunk my wine and my milk /Ooh, yeah, baby.
Okay, so I stole that from the Bible so what? I can still read it tonight at Black Velvet, an uninhibited night of erotic poetry sponsored by the Colorado Poets Association as part of its Colfax Reading Series. Veteran and amateur poets alike will get their Valentine's Day foreplay on a few nights early as they share their naughtiest fantasies and experiences in the form of über-literate smut either original or borrowed.
