Most people who got called “nerd” in high school probably didn’t get a lot out of their prom experience, but Bop Skizzum’s second annual Nerd Prom offers a chance for sweet redemption. Nerds can don their best garb — whether it’s that slick jacket with the Dungeons & Dragons patches they wore in high school or an elaborate costume repping their favorite sci-fi universe.
“It was really fun last year, and this year we’re just trying to do a little bit better and celebrate nerdiness,” says Bop Skizzum’s Andy “Rok” Guerrero. “I think it will be awesome to see people dancing in their nerdy outfits, and then you’ll see something like Wolverine.”
Besides the opportunity to dance the night away, there will be a series of competitions to crown a Nerd Prom king and queen, plus a costume contest, a nerd lounge with vintage arcade games, a photo booth and lots more.
