To that end, the organization will present the very first Henry Awards, named for local theater luminary Henry Lowenstein, tonight at 7 p.m. at the New Denver Civic Theatre, 721 Santa Fe Drive. To be eligible for an award, a production must have run for at least twelve paid performances, it must be a full production (not a reading), and the presenting theater must be a member of the Colorado Theatre Guild. As with the Tony Awards, critics submit nominees based on a points system. Local accounting firm Deloitte & Touche is tallying the votes, and the awards will be handed out at this evening's ceremony.
Tickets to the Henrys are $20 for black-box seating, where the ceremony will be simultaneously video-broadcast; $30 for mainstage theatre seating; and $100 for two VIP tickets, which include a reception (beginning at 6 p.m.), priority seating and a bottle of champagne. For more information or to order tickets, call 303-778-7724 or go to www.coloradotheatreguild.org.
