Are you gagging on Oscar-nominated, highbrow movies? Clean your palate with world-class garbage at Reel Social Club’s anti-Oscar bash, the PBBT — Golden Raspberry Party. “At the Denver Film Society, we play very serious films, and it’s always fun to get people together to remember that bad films, for better or worse, can be a lot of fun,” says DFS programmer Matthew Campbell. “A lot of times, bad films have merit that makes the communal experience of cinema worthwhile.”
Pinch your nose through The Lone Ranger, Grown Ups 2 and one democratically elected stinker, then drink up: DFS promises to ply viewers with a complimentary pitcher of beer for beer pong, drunken bingo and other intoxicating games to help lubricate the ride from one cinematic disaster to another. If beer fails to wet your whistle, the Colorado Bartenders Guild will station celebrity mixologists in each theater to conjure bad-movie spirits and channel them into signature cocktails. After the screening, shake the shame from your system at a post-screening dance party.
