What happens when diverse artistic mediums collide? Find out at the Mash-Up Party at BMoCA, a cultural extravaganza fueled by libations from a cash bar. I was thinking it would be cool to do a party where we mix different [art] styles together, says Sarah Kinn, coordinator of adult programs at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. We came up with this idea. The party will give attendees a chance to make their own mash-up silkscreens while enjoying drinks and complimentary snacks. From 9 to 10 p.m., as four artists paint on the same canvas, sonic artist Jason Corder will use a laptop to manipulate real-time data generated by the painters brushes into a unique soundscape. Before and after that, DJ CJ will play your standard music mash-ups to keep people dancing.
