Penny For Your Thoughts

The fifth edition of the local literary magazine, Copper Nickel, contains a real body of work: The new release, subtitled Hot Metal, rides on bodily themes, from the human kind to the divine sort, featuring works by an award-winning batch of local literati, including poets Aaron Abeyta, Aaron Anstett, Sheila Black and Jane Wampler, as well local musician (and fiction writer) Munly Munly. Help celebrate the new Nickel's debut tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place, where editor Jake Adam York will preside behind the bar, contributors will read their works, the duo of Pete Wall and Doug Tapia will perform live jazz and art-covered locals will show off their tattoos. Admission is free; visit for information.
