The art of one-of-a-kind style has no better ally than the fiber artisan, who knits, weaves, dyes, quilts, appliqués or paints designs on fabric to create one unique wearable work after another. If you’re looking to wrap yourself in something quite unlike anything anyone else is wearing, you won’t want to miss the annual ArtWear Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center, 417 West Magnolia Street in Fort Collins.

Events kick off tonight at 7:15 p.m. with a wine and dessert reception, fashion show and first-pick sale preview featuring wearable art pieces both elegant and fun; the ArtWear garment sale continues from 11 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. daily through September 12 in the Lincoln Center Galleries. Do-it-yourselfers will also have their day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, during the hands-on KnitWear event, which combines a knitting-goods vendor expo with free demonstrations and a knit-and-bitch area.

Tickets to tonight’s preview are $50, and KnitWear admission is $3 to $5 (children eleven and under will be admitted free); visit www.lctix.com or call 1-970-221-6730 for information.
