Before she put together this month's Girls in Space -- 2010: A Burlesque Oddity, Reyna Von Vett checked the dates for the Starfest convention (April 16-18). "We figured we'd be able to drag some of those guys to come see the show," she reasons, and she's probably right: This space-themed cabaret is sure to appeal to lovers of sci-fi (and women) across the board.
"It took everyone a little more time than usual to find something that they wanted to do and could get creative with," notes Von Vett (whose alter ego, Cora Vette, emcees the show). "But the result is really awesome and all-over-the-place crazy."
Some of the space girls' options were more obvious (Princess Leia in slave-wear, anyone?), but after asking for suggestions via Facebook and brainstorming together, they came up with some excellent ideas: Vivienne Va Voom will present a Barbarella number; Petra Puse will take her inspiration from Avatar; Whoopsie Daisy has put together a Pigs in Space vignette; and there's even a group Planet of the Apes striptease. Sexy!
