MATTER: Disregarding the barriers between design and art since 1999. Thats the motto of MATTER, the fast-forward local design studio masterminded by Rick Griffith, and it describes perfectly the show Griffith has hung in the fourth-floor Jury Selection Room at the Denver City and County Building as part of the ongoing C&C Exhibition Series curated by local photographer Anna Newell. The boundary-crossing exhibit, If (Silence = Golden) Then Get Rich Quick, Now: New Works Designed to Inspire Quiet While Waiting for Jury Service, opened last Tuesday and continues weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 29.

Yes, its a long name for a show. But understand that this comes from the active mind of a man who is more than just fascinated with the graphic properties of words and wears his hair in Reddy Kilowatt devil horns that leave one under the impression that his thoughts are so relentless and complex that they actually leak right up and out of his head. That said, hes certain to give the lucky potential jurors who file through that room throughout March and April a lot to think about. And you, too: The general public is also invited to view the exhibit between noon and 6 p.m. weekdays; log on to www.myspace.com/exhibitionspeakerseries for the details.
Mondays-Fridays, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: March 3. Continues through April 29, 2009
