Summer survival depends on barbecue. The grill sits there every day, luring you from your hot kitchen and complicated recipes. Marinated steaks, chicken breasts on the bone, ribs, kabobs, salmon, swordfish mmmm. Barbecue is a rite of passage, and the Cook Street Culinary School of Denver will take avid grillers to a whole new level during today's Backyard Basics class.
Smoked trout with beet horseradish, Memphis-style Red Bird rotisserie chicken, grilled pizza margherite, grilled onions, potatoes and even pears will all become part of the students' new arsenal. The $79 classes will use both gas and coal grills.
