There will be no avoiding the color purple today, Colorado Rockies Purple Monday, when you can march down a purple stripe on Blake Street and right on into Coors Field for the Rockies home opener.

But the purple prose will continue all through the season.

The Rockies organization has named this "The Year of the Fan," and will be offering special deals to coincide with every Monday home game. For example, there is a special nine-game Monday-night ticket package, as well as fireworks for every home run and special giveaways for the purple-garbed on Mondays only. The team is even hosting a Purple Monday photo contest (and accepting entries through June 1).

Play ball! And have one, too. Visit the Colorado Rockies online for more information.
