The Walking Dead (actors) will be at Denver Comic Con in June
Denver Comic Con is pulling out all of the stops this year with many impressive guest speakers, including the just-announced appearances of three of the stars of AMC's The Walking Dead. Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun and Chandler Riggs -- who play Maggie Green, Glenn and Carl Grimes respectively -- will all be attending.
This is the first year that San Diego-based Comic Con (not to be confused with the long-running Mile Hi Con, which has been around for more than forty years) has put on a show in Denver and the response has already been so large that the organizers have had to find a new venue.
"We planned on the smaller space for our first year, but the response has been so overwhelming -- from vendors, dealers, artists and attendees -- that we quickly outgrew that space," says co-convention director Christina Angel.
The convention is now being held in Hall A of the Colorado Convention Center, a 100,00 square-foot space with plenty of room to host all of the events taking place of the conventions three days.
"After walking the sprawling space, I think everyone is going to be as excited as we are to give Denver the pop culture experience it so richly deserves," says Angel.
Denver Comic Con is being held over Father's Day weekend, June15 to 17. There is an extensive list of celebrity guests from TV, film and literature, as well as a trade expo for comic collectibles and even Jedi training sessions where dad (or anyone else) can learn to fight like a Jedi.
Tickets are $45 for adults for a three-day pass and $25 for teens (11-16) for a three-day pass. The convention goes from 6p.m.-10p.m. on June 15, 10a.m.-6p.m. on June 16 and 10a.m.-5p.m. on June 17.
